We all come across the single phase motor and find that there are all these different connection diagrams inside the terminal box that, in some cases, make no sense at all. This prompted me to share the basic diagram that I scribble on a piece of paper and use as my connection tool. Nothing fancy though, but you can use this to get the windings sorted, find out where the capacitor goes and get it working. What is not shown here is the centrifugal switch that some motors may have. That merely gets connected in series with the capacitor on the active side. As a rule, I would never put that between the capacitor and start winding. Always in fron of the capacitor
Hope you will find that useful, and remember, stick to the safety procedures when working on electrical equipment!
